Paying at the Pump

Posted by katie on 6/12/2008 on katie's blog

Okay, so I didn't make it to Tahoe...seriously, do you know how much gas costs out here? $4.69. It's crazy.
Crazy, and not in the SD budget. So instead we hit up the climbing gym this evening.
And....drumroll please....that's it. That's my story for the day. I got nothin' else.
I think some folks are coming down here to go climbing this weekend so hopefully it'll be super exciting. :) Plus, I need to find a climbing partner to go check out the cracks at Mt. Woodson SOON.

Hey MT.Woodson.Looks like a lot of clutter at the top if it's the one I saw on a web site once. Me I like the 2 to three day hikes in to climb.

I think that's more routes total than I do in maybe 6 years.

Where is this located? Sorry, but the FL girl has no idea where this is. Any recommends for the Salt Lk City area? Considering this area along others for a short vacation in October, poss.
Katie are you aware of the womens climibing seminar at Joshua Tree, Mid September? Hear that guys all chicks! It's like 5-6 days with clinics daily and camping. I'm considering that one too, trying to work out some logistics.
Happy climbing, hope you get to where you want to be!

Peace

Mt Woodson is in San Diego County. Lots of big boulders, hard cracks and dicey slabs. Sandbagged.

Here is a link that shows pics of some the classics:

Ummmmm salad, did you just list ALL the climbs there, if not, it must have more classics than all the places I've climbed put together, and that includes Boulder Canyon, AND Eldorado Springs Canyon. :^)
Cheers!

thats not even close to all the routes at woodson. the list was comprised by someone other than myself and was meant to show some of the better quality cracks at each grade.

i referred to the list as 'good ones', not classics. the link i posted showed a few pictures of some woodson classics.

Agree.... too hot in desert states in summer, unless you get waay up in altitude. I missed my chance in March to enjoy some cool temps out at Red Rocks. Make up trip is now scheduled for August, so I'm gonna be quite limited due to the heat too.

redbear57 says:

Hey WC 07 look at it this way. You climb shadow to shadow. [ha ha] Any Climbing better then no Climbing!
