Local word is the cat slab is open. I went their last Thursday and a for sale sign was up and the no trespassing sign was down. We were having a great day when I went for a perfect finger lock on old d. I soon discovered that a YELLOW JACKET nest was in the hole. Within seconds I was screaming batting my face and leaped off the rock. My partner was wondering what the heck I was doing. With the noise of the road he did not hear me. After the swarm ended I climbed back up to my quick draw replaced it quickly with a beaner and lowered. Then I ripped through my gear to find my Epi pen.

SCHOOL UGH!!! |
|
Well I only have two weeks left of class and then I am done. This EMT-I class has been a bitch. It cut way to much into my climbing time. So now I am just working on my Clinical stuff and then I am done. With all the studying I have had to do I have only been getting out about once a week. My study skills at 43 are just not what they used to be. Today was a great day. I woke up and they said it was going to be in the 50's. My first thought was what a great day to be climbing in the Cathedral spires area. I called my buddy and he was game. We hiked up to Snake buttress. |
Free solo?? |

While sitting in class Monday night I heard my phone ring about 9:30 P.M. A little embarrassed that I forgot to turn off the ringer I picked up the phone to turn it off. At this time I realized that the person calling me was calling at a very odd time. I turned off my phone and I immediately knew something was wrong. When class let out I still had an hour and a half drive home. I checked the message while the person I was car pooling with drove home. My fear was confirmed. My friend had told me that an accident had happened to a friend of ours. |

Well thanks, I know my pics are not the most radical climbs. I do have fun and love to turn people on to this great sport. I climbed today, onsighted 2 5.9 s and then failed a 5.10b. Well I will get it it next time. I figure I am in my 40s and still hanging so I am happy. I will say Paramedic school is kicking my but. Actually its EMT I but whats the difference. Not to much in Colorado. I am going down to the bucksnort slabs in the morning then its more studying. well thanks again! |

bored |
|
I am really bored today. I am waiting to see if I got accepted into a program. I sit here and check my E mail. I was supposed to find out last week. I went for a bike ride only to rush inside and check my E mail. Nothing, so I sit here and play on the computer and check and recheck my Email. I cant really make any plans cause everything revolves around this E mail. UGH, I guess I will just wait and wish I had someone to climb with tomorrow. |
