Posted by rosieclimber11 on 7/20/2008

So are the dangers of slip n slides.............this is what happens when you mix a liitle drinking and a lot horse-in around. So what to do, I really don't think its broke, swelling, pain and some limited motion; no deformaty noted. So I will see how I feel tomorrow if its worse I'll get it xrayed. It sucks b/c I can't climb for several wks. Anyone had somethg like happen, how did you tx it? But we had fun doin it, we where a bunch of adults acting like kids, tooo funny!

Rock guide aspirations

Posted by rosieclimber11 on 6/11/2008

I think I want to become guide certified, this has been something I have been thinking about for a while. It had to be put on hold for a year while I finished nursing school, now that I am just about done with that, I want to pursue the Single pitch instructor cert. Which for me seems the most attainable based on where I am now with my skills and experience level. It's the entry level cert and I figure I can start there. Trust me, I have a lot more work to do, but I have a good friend/guide that does training and testing for this cert at the AMGA level.

August, where to go?

Posted by rosieclimber11 on 5/24/2008

So, I am thinking of where to go and if July/Aug is a good time of year. With gas prices so high, I am hoping to drive somewhere, less than a days drive and somewhere I can bring my dog. Awesome Australian Shepherd-Tito! Pics to come. So, I am open to here from the community to see whats cooking out there. I'll be reading some of your blogs in hopes of finding out some good info.

cheers!

...life as a student nurse

Posted by rosieclimber11 on 3/31/2008

Count down, 4 clinical days and 3 classroom days!!! WHEW HEW!! I have one month of school left! Wow! Can you believe it.
So, I've not been climbing as much as I'd like due to my schedule. This semester had made me put on ten pounds, so I am bumbin.
Really, every lbs counts, it's amazing how your climbing can suffer b/c of a little weight.
I've been reading about how some climber have horrible dietary habits in order to stay slim.
It also sounds like the guys obsess as much as the girls do.

More on life as a student RN

Posted by rosieclimber11 on 2/27/2008

Well peeps, I am about-ish the half way point. Glad, soooo glad. Every day that I wake up, is another day that gets me closer to my goals, my dreams. In clinic yesterday, I had to be the leader of my group, ugh! I learned that, there are some many different ways to approach problems and people with problems. It's a part of the learning process, like in climbing, there are various ways to tackle a problem or the crux.

Life to date!

Posted by rosieclimber11 on 1/28/2008

I am seeing a light at the end of this tunnel I call nursing school. I am starting to get more excited about the idea I am almost done with school. Now, I can start where I left off with my obession with climbing. I get to climb indoors and hone my skills and strength, it's cool. But we all know how it is to climb indoors, it's usually the same routes time after time, boring sometimes. It's hard, b/c the guys that set are routes are few, one at this present time. Love him to death and he sets some killer routes, but he's only one man.
