NATIONALS |
|
I just got back from the qualifying round at nationals. The routes were VERY fun and super-cool. They were actually the 2 funnest routes I've ever got on at a comp... they made me enjoy plastic climbing for once. I flashed the first route, as it was pretty easy. I'm sure most if not all people did... The second one was more difficult. I was climbing slow. After my first climb i drank all my water and I needed more. My throat was more dry than ever before, and I felt like puking because it was so dry. I totally lost focus on climbing and kept thinking about how thirsty I was... |
BD Alpine Bod |
|
Hey everybody! I was wondering if anyone has used or at least messed around with one of the newer Alpine Bods with the plastic leg loop buckles. I used to use one for work but we had the ones with the metal buckles. I've been thinking about picking one up but I can't find em with metal leg loop buckles anymore. I'm not too hip on the idea of plastic buckles but I thought I'd ask around in here to see what ya'll thought. |

the day woodchuck stopped by |
|
Woodchuck stopped by my home gym today, but unfortunately I wasn't there. I called my dad so that he could give me a ride, but he was busy at the time. It was then I realized that my chance to meet him was gone. I remembered that he didn't have internet access, and I didnt have his phone number, so I felt bad that he was going to stop by and I wasnt even there. |

I haven't been getting on here alot recently due to a fun-filled summer curriculum. Yesterday I got back from Bonnaroo, which is a 4 day music festival located in Manchester, Tennessee. Its a crazy time for sure - hippies, tyedye, good vibes... oh, and music! JAM BANDS! you know it. ANYWAYS... |

DIVISIONALS |
|
HOLY COWWWW – what a CRAZY weekend! If you don’t care about the whole story, then only read the last few paragraphs…. I talk about qualifers in the first part --- I would suggest reading the whole thing though… Divisionals was crazier than I thought it would be. I was SUPER nervous, considering this was the last chance to make it to nationals. This is NOT like bouldering. NO, its MUCH, MUCH harder to make it to nationals (in my age division) – and I learned that this weekend. |

personal update |
|
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but recently I haven't been getting on and posting EVERYDAY. This is because right now I've been SUPER PSYCHED on climbing routes outside. Needless to say, whenever i am NOT climbing outside, I am at home or at the gym studying for tests and getting ready for my sophmore year to END! I HAVE gotten on a few times and updated myself on virtually everything i missed out on - all the pictures and comments and such. . . But who knows when i will have time again to do that. Maybe tomorrow?! So don't post tooo much cool stuff!!! I will try my best to keep myself updated on all of the posts, but sometimes its overwhelming! Eh, what the heck - i'll find time! It's called school... ha ha. |

This week was pretty exciting. After deciding not to climb in the local bouldering comp on Friday, I managed to help set problems for it. Although I have set BEFORE, I have never set for a comp. It was a new and exciting experience. Thursday I spent 4 or 5 hours picking out the perfect holds and then placing them in the perfect position on the wall. Friday I came to fore-run all the problems. After climbing the problems and replacing holds or jibs that needed to be changed, we rated them in order from 1 - 15 in each category. Then it was time for the comp. As the scorecards were printing as the rules were being read, it was already getting stressfull. But after that, it was laid back and stress free. |

Herbivore |
![]() After sending 2 5.12's last month, i realized that I have never even lead a 5.11. So this is me onsighting my first 5.11 at Obed - in the Y12 area. It is called Herbivore, which is perfect, considering I am a vegetarian. Photo provided by this guy nicknamed Nacho, who is apparently famous in spain for sending 5.14 back in the day... |
